The Probiotics In Peptiva & Why They Were Chosen

Hi, everyone. It’s Dr. David Katz here, Chief Medical Advisor for Peptiva.

I’ve already talked to you about the nighttime and sleep benefits of Peptiva Probiotics + Sleep Support. Today, I want to talk more specifically about the probiotics in Peptiva and why they were chosen.

In the formulation of Peptiva, we carefully selected what we believed to be the best probiotics, based on clinical evidence and scientific research. These specific strains were shown in clinical studies to provide significant benefits for the gut and overall health.

Peptiva contains six clinically validated probiotic strains, at the exact level of potency confirmed in the scientific studies.

First, we chose Active Microbiome Blend, with patented strains of Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus paracasei.

Clinical studies on this key ingredient in Peptiva found it has a positive effect on bowel habit. For instance, subjects who took Active Microbiome Blend for 12 weeks saw a drastic improvement in digestive regularity and consistency.

The other four probiotic strains come from Lab4 Clinical Cultures, a multi-strain probiotic that’s also clinically shown to provide powerful digestive support. The strains are two types of Lactobacillus acidophilus, then Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium bifidum subsp lactis.

In clinical trials, Lab4 Clinical Cultures significantly improved bowel habits, digestive satisfaction, and quality of life in subjects who took it for 8 weeks.  It also significantly reduced bloating, discomfort, and other side effects of an imbalanced gut.

We then went a step further to ensure you get the best support from these powerful probiotics.

An important thing to know about probiotics is the bacterial cultures must be alive and active at the time you take them. Bacteria are living organisms vulnerable to heat and moisture. When not kept in the proper environment, the bacteria can die off. This decreases the potency of the product and does you no good.

The potency of a probiotic supplement is expressed on the label in colony-forming units—also referred to as CFUs. The CFU represents the number of bacteria present in a probiotic.

However, the CFU count on a probiotic label often expresses the potency at the time the product was made— not when you’re actually taking it.

A “manufactured by” date on a label states when the product was bottled and does not guarantee potency throughout the entire shelf life. Therefore, something claiming to have 10 billion CFUs might only have 5 billion at the time you take it.

Many companies will start with huge amounts of CFUs, knowing fewer will survive through production, shipment, and storage.

Peptiva is one of the very few probiotics engineered and tested to guarantee full label potency through the expiration date. We use a proprietary Tri-Phase Dehydration process, which protects the probiotics against damage and ensures maximum potency and quality.

This means you get all 26 billion cultures in each dose of Peptiva when you take it. And Peptiva does not need to be refrigerated.

Guaranteed potency through expiration is important to ensuring the health-promoting bacteria will enter your body, colonize your intestine, and provide optimal support.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the probiotics in Peptiva. Until next time, wishing you well.
